The base Jeep Commander Sport has the standard 3.7-liter V6 capable of 210 horsepower and 235 pound-feet of torque. The Limited model is a bit more powerful, and comes with a 5.7 liter HEMI engine, which is optional on the Sport. The rear-wheel-drive Jeep Commander with the V6 engine gets 14 miles per gallon in the city and 19 on the highway. Jeep also offers two four-wheel-drive systems,

including Quadra-Drive II, which features Hill Start and Descent Assist technology. All models come with a five-speed automatic transmission. The four-wheel-drive V6 gets the same 14 miles per gallon.

The Commander’s specious cabin has got three rows of comfortable seats. An upscale two-tone decor makes for an attractive interior. Legroom in the Commander’s third row falls short specially for a tall person. The Commander offers 7.5 cubic feet with all three rows in use, 36.4 with the third row stowed and 68.9 cubic feet with all rear seats folded.

Jeep Commander mid-sized sport utility vehicle. Introduced in 2006, the seven-seater based on the popular Grand Cherokee. With three rows of seating the Commander is a spacious SUV.
The three-row Jeep Commander is available in two trims, Sport and Limited. The Sport comes standard with power accessories, air-conditioning, a power driver seat and a CD stereo. The Limited adds heated leather seats, power-adjustable pedals, automatic dual-zone climate control, a power tailgate, satellite radio and a power sunroof with twin skylights in the second row. Jeep Commander also comes with options like a navigation system and a rear-seat DVD entertainment system.

The Commander comes with features like traction control, advanced anti-lock brakes and Electronic Roll Mitigation. The Commander has advanced multistage air bags and special cradle bars that help minimize rear impact upon collision with another vehicle.
